Going through some of my 16mm films to sell and came upon this title.Thought some of you might get a kick out of it if you have not seen it. Link is to a video not of my making. start watching at 5:45 seconds.

At least the shop keeper was smart enough to remove the crank. That could have been real painful

I couldn't get the video to play, but found another copy of the movie on YouTube.

At first I thought it might be a VV-X, but when the door flopped open, I could see that it had a grille behind the doors, instead of the louvers. Some off brand model or a modified (reinforced?) Victrola?

Definitely a modified Victrola, with all the guts removed. I must admit I was surprised at how well the cabinet held up to Oliver landing on it! Perhaps that phony grille hides some extra internal bracing.

And with all that jostling, the lid never pops open.

It's cool that the clip has the original sound-on-disc track recorded and pressed by Victor Talking Machine Company. When L&H started making talkies in (I think) May, 1929 - Victor also recorded those as well.

Been a long, long time since I've watched an L&H silent; the original music / sound FX was neat too !

And of course the phonograph shopkeeper is their old nemesis, Jimmy Finlayson ! ( Master of the "hairy-eyeball" scowl ! )

Great treat to go with my morning coffee !

Romania is a really lovely place to visit. I enjoyed it!
