Interesting "transitional" Zonophone Tone Arm?

I came upon this tone arm on an early flat bedplate Zonophone that I recently purchased.
Very interesting in that the early flat bedplate machines usually came with the tubular tone arm with the cast ends, (as seen in the last picture).
This tone arm is almost identical to the later tone arms, except in that it has a heavier cast tone arm support.
My thoughts are that this was a transitional tone arm produced before they went to the pressed support to cut costs?
First time I have seen one like this. Has anyone in the Forum ever come across one?
Cheers, Bob S.
