Hello all, new to the forum and new addiction

Good morning all. I just wanted to send a quick hello and a bit of an introduction. I just picked up a pretty clean Victrola VV-100 dated at 1924. All I needed to do was clean out the spring barrel, clean and lube everything and adjust the speed and she works wonderfully. It came with 40 or so 78s but most of them are fairly worn but they still play decently. I’ve found a new addiction now. I also have an antique fan addiction and like to clean and restore them as well. Also have a previous antique sewing machine addiction but it’s been in remission for a few years. I’m a mechanic by trade. I live in a little cabin on a hillside next to a 32 acre lake in a rural area in Indiana. Well there’s a little about me. You’ll be seeing me around here some more. Thank you all for hosting such a nice place.

Welcome, your location sounds an idyllic place to listen to records on a gramophone.

I'd second that. Welcome to the forum. I've been kicking around here for the past 15 years and collecting now for about 33 years. It's seriously addictive. I'd seek help before it gets too bad.
Even though I'm given to saying my collecting days are over, I managed to buy 26 machines yesterday. This year's not even over yet so there's still time to buy a few more!

In the 1950's (yes I am THAT old) my parents and other relations were making the transition from 78 to LP. One of them gave me their old "wind-up" portable gramophone and some records. When I showed an interest, others gave me their gramophones and records as they were replaced.
Well over 60 years later I am still collecting, and thanks to this forum I am still learning.
I hope you will enjoy your collecting journey as much as I have enjoyed mine.

26 !!! ????
I mean, I have a small trickle of gramophone related items coming in regularly, but 26 machines in one day ?
Oh, please, please, please elaborate ! This actually sounds fascinating !!!
