Hello. I am looking to sell this machine I have. I know nothing about it other than it was made by Thorens in the 1930s. I have no room for it and desperately need money. What would you price this as and where do I sell it? Reproducer is not included as it is my only one

In another thread you mentioned you paid $20 for it at an antique store. It likely has a single or double spring motor?

Search for the term "Swissies" and you'll get an idea what it might be, considering the wide range of off-brand European horn machines utilizing swiss components. I saw one sell for $700 a few years ago which was in exceptional condition and had a multicolored blue horn on it, but that was unusually high, I thought. This one has a slightly wilting horn and no reproducer, and probably won't go that high.

If you can pack boxes, and only if, ebay is a good choice to sell. If you don't know how to brace the inside of a cardboard box to keep it from crushing in shipping, or how to remove motors so they don't collapse the motorboard, I'd recommend a local sale on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. Meet in public. Weird people run Facebook, but weird people shop Craigslist.

The machine may have problems in places as the horn is held to the elbow with pozidriv/phillips screws. Probably not the original horn. In any event well worth the money for the parts, the Edelweiss pattern back bracket is nice and appears to have the original elbow even if it is now drilled with holes and painted. Check there are no redundant motor holes in the base.
