Can anyone please help me to identify this Phonograph as I'd like to attempt to make the missing carriage / reproducer. I think it may be of European origin but that's just a guess. Thanks

Edison Amberola 30.

That is the mechanical workings of an Edison Amberola 30, the little four-minute phonograph that plays Blue Amberol or Everlasting 4m celluloid records. They are pretty fun to mess around with but are incredibly common as far as cylinder phonographs go. If you rebuild the reproducer they sound extremely good and I almost regret selling mine except the fellow who bought it had never had a cylinder player before & really wanted something cool for his farmhouse.

You are missing the Diamond C reproducer, winding crank, carriage, governor cover, start-stop lever, cabinet, lid, top grill, front grill, grill cloth, internal horn, suspension spring, lid latch, dataplate, bedplate screws and any washers, and...that should be about enough to get you going. This machine would better be suited for either demolishing for spare parts, or, if you could build a base for it in the style of the old horn-type Edison machines & mount a large horn, you could build a custom high-fidelity cylinder machine by blending design features of the Edison Opera, the EMG disc gramophone, and that sort of thing. Fun fact you can actually double the power of the motor by sliding a new spring barrel onto the original axle as the same motor frame was used in the Amb 50 and 75, which used a 30 motor with an extra barrel added.

I do not know where you are located; I am in Maryland. I have an empty Amberola 30 oak case and the internal horn sitting in my garage doing nothing. They are yours, free if you can pick them up yourself, or for the cost of shipping. I can post photos if you like.
