Blessings on your day, selling working Edison utility shaver. Cord is brittle and I have always simply plugged it into an extension cord rather than trying to unravel the cord. Blower fan disconnected by removing belts and I use a shop vac with the motor only driving the spindle. It runs much faster that way. I have shaved records with this for decades this way. Also the white metal clamp failed years ago and I simply use a C-clamp to tension the adjuster. Asking $300 negotiable. Located at 92627, in southern california, Costa Mesa. Thanks for looking at our listing. john at [email protected]

Here is a video of it in use:

One thing this machine can be very useful for is turning down wax blanks so a split US Everlasting "sheet" can be affixed to it using scotch magnetic splicing tape to secure the ends of the sheet in the dead celluloid areas.
You just have to be very, very careful not to turn down the wax blank so much so that the celluloid ends do not overlap- just meet.
I developed this method and used it to transfer these damaged cylinders successfully several times when I was the Senior Preservation Engineer at the Belfer Audio Archive.

Called a ‘mandrel’, not a “spindle”.
