Mikiphone parts / templates

Greetings,

Last week I was delighted to find a Mikiphone at a thrift shop which is in excellent condition except for some missing bits.

Someday, I’d like to seek out the missing parts or good reproductions but in the interim it would be fun to try it out with a replacement platter, center pin and resonator.

I’m sure the latter could be fashioned out of cardboard for demo purposes, but I do need to make up a platter.

Is anyone able to provide me with a stencilled outline so I can get one 3D printed?

Also dimensions and / or suggestions for a center pin would be helpful.

Sincere thanks,

Stephen

There are 3 or 4 varieties, 4 if rumors are true that the rectangular japanese one is also being faked?

saw this on the internet

depending on what machine you have and what you are missing, some parts are being remade: e.g on the round machine, the bakalite resonator - as these seem often to go missing!

Sure - this is the machine in question :-)

I notice the spindal pin is slightly tapered,

Looks good. A friend in Germany used to make the resonator. Not an easy task as they need to be specially injection moulded - you've probably seen, its a 2 part construction. And has to be exact, for the machine to all fold together. I will ask if they are still available - where in the world are you located?

Turntable - have not seen reproduced, but its essentially a flat piece of metal - and he may be able to reproduce this as well. He has a special set of skills...... :D

Yes indeed - I have been in touch with the source you mention with good long term prospect. I may well pursue this downstream, but I wanted to simply 3D print or make up something crudely to test it out first, hence my query. The dimensions of the platter / pin or a template would be useful. As for the resonator- I’m sure I could rig something with a glorified paper cup in the short term. I will also need to change the gaskets in the reproducer.

It is such a beautiful little machine :-)

Cheers,

Stephen
