I bought a Columbia cylinder player, just the mechanics, no case. A blue amberol was on the mandrel. I didn't look at the cylinder for the past few days, then just a few minutes ago took if off the mandrel. I was rather surprised to find I have Teddy Bear Picnic on Blue Amberol # 1867. I believe this is a good find, but I've always been more interested in the machines than the recordings, so don't really know. Unfortunately, I recently sold my 2/4 minute machine so can't play it. At least people have uploaded it on Youtube, so I can hear it there.

BA1867 is a sought after cylinder. It took me years to find a copy for sale in the UK.
My wife collects children's records, and has about 30 versions of the Teddy Bear's Picnic on 78rpm.

Wikipedia has an entry on the tune, which people might find interesting.

I listened to several versions last night including a version sung by the Canadian singer Anne Murray.

Can we assume everyone knows the reason for the title?
