February 11, 1847: Born: Thomas A. Edison, inventor of the phonograph.
February 11, 1915: Eugene Kieffer filed for a U.S. Design Patent (eventually granted as No.47,399) for “Cabinet for Talking Machines.” This would become the cabinet for the Victrola XVIII.
February 11, 1915: Eugene Kieffer filed for a U.S. Design Patent (eventually granted as No.49,215) for “Cabinet for Talking Machines.” This would become the second style cabinet for the Victrola IX.
