Meteor (model 15?)

Hello ALL! New to the forum. I have on hand 3 old phonographs, and the first one I am attempting to restore, as near as I can tell, is a Meteor. Maybe it's a Model 15 (because it has dual spring barrels)?
The main issue I am having is separating the spring barrels. I started pulling them apart, and now not only will they not come apart, they will not go back together. The shaft through the center of both barrels seems to be a single piece, but I cannot disconnect either spring.
That said, I soaked the whole unit in gasoline long enough that nearly all of the old grease has dissolved out, so if I can just get the two barrels back together properly, that will suffice.
Any suggestions, or corrections on manufacturer or model number?
