Hey everyone,

Just a basic question on what was originally used to mount the key escutcheons for Victrola cabinets. I have a 1911 XVI and a replacement escutcheon but wasn’t sure if there were pins that got pressed in to secure it or small screws. It has two holes which makes me think pins but I was curious if anyone was more knowledgeable so that I could try and match the original factory method.

The two holes you see are where two tiny nails go. At the 12 & 6 o'clock positions.

Is that a 3D printed key? If so, I'd be afraid of breaking off the end inside the lock, especially if it's locked at the time.

Yes it’s a 3D printed key but mainly just used for show. Wasn’t able to get the mechanism unlocked with it, luckily didn’t break it off.

Thee best choice for attaching the escutcheon is small round head brass brads.
