Too much oil on the mechanisms

Hello everyone.
Some time ago I used a lot of oil to lubricate the mechanisms of my Victor M. I used more than I needed.
Now the mechanisms are dirty, and I would like "to dissolve" that oil so as to have a dry appearance. How can I do this?

Use some white spirit (mineral spirits - turpentine substitute) soaked into a rag and then wipe over the motor. You can even try petrol (benzina) or alcohol. A toothbrush, soaked in the spirit, can be used to clean the metal gear teeth. Avoid getting spirit on any fibre gear.

I use Kerosene. Many years ago, I used Gasolene, but Kerosene works much better.
