A Classic Edison cabinet

“On This Day in the History of Recorded Sound…”

June 3, 1911: Edward F. Pooley filed for a U.S. Design Patent (eventually granted as No.41,732) for “Cabinet.” This cabinet was used with the Edison Amberola 1A and 1B, as well as the Edison Disc Phonograph A 250 and B 250.

Pooley was an independent cabinet company that Edison contracted cabinet work to. They also did radio cabinets and dozens of other furniture items.
