Hi All.
I bought a Standard A (#36847) today, with 4 lid clips. I have a few Standards, but not had a reproducer like this(#169856). I have dissmantled most to clean and check, but not sure whether the weight is fixed to body with pin or screw pin. Also likewise for the stylus bar. What was used to fix the stylus. Can anyone guide me on this and maybe give me a date for this machine.
Any help welcomed.

It appears to be part of an Edison Automatic reproducer- Please show us the other side-- but from the picture, I'd venture it is missing the tube plate and retaining ring-- Still- having the parts you have--especially the stylus-- is good news.

Here are pics of a complete Automatic reproducer.. Which would be the correct reproducer for your early Standard.

This Standard left the factory in June 1901.

According to original Edison sales data, Standard #36847 left the factory in July 1901. An illustrated article on all models of the Edison Standard (A-G) appeared in the December 2023 issue of the Antique Phonograph Society magazine.

Whoops! I missed the part on that page where it said HIGHEST serial numbers per month as in the last serial of the month.

Thanks Brad and George for your replies. I have managed to dismantle, clean ready to rebuild. The oldest phono. I also got a Graphophone A (NewYork) so going to have a busy few days/months.
