Eric L. Reiss, author of The Complete Talking Machine and a pioneer in the world of phonographs, passed away earlier today in Copenhagen at the age of 71.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this time.
Fly high, Eric—your voice and legacy will live on.

Eric will be missed. Every new collector would benefit by reading his book. I was honored to meet him at an expo last year.

He was a great man and will be sorely missed. His book was my constant reading material when I was starting out.

This is very sad news. I’ve purchased both editions of his book. The Vestal press edition and the later one. His common sense approach to the subject has helped me through out the years of collecting.

I am quite devestated. Catching up with him personally 2x per year at Rüdesheim was the highlight of those weekends.

He's helped many with his book, especially before internet tutorials. RIP to a valuable member of our community.

Absolutely heartbreaking. One of my introductions to phonographs and a man with an amazing wealth of knowledge to share with the hobby. He will be missed.

This is awful news. I only purchased and read his book last month and found the information wonderful. He'll be missed greatly.
