Both of these tonearms swivel freely at base and at u-tube joint- No cleaning or lubrication has been done. No dents- Both are real nice arms. Nickel arm measures 8 ½" from center of tube at the base to the center of the u-tube- Gunmetal arm measures 9 ½" center to center
