Question on using the forum Search Function

Recently I was searching for the word string “spring grease”, what was returned was every instance of “spring” and every instance of “grease”. Hundreds of hits, not the string I wanted

From you clever database guys, what is the right search format for find a string? the instructions are not helpful.

Also, searching for machine names like 9-55 or 10-50 return an error saying the string is too short. How do I search for these entries?

Thanks for your help,
Mark

Hi Mark,

What I do is go on to Google. Search, for example, ‘9-55 talking machine forum’ Google will show recent results from the talking machine forum for the specific numbers or words you asked for and if you want older results click on ‘more results from forum.talkingmachine.info.’

You’re welcome. I hope it works for you. I find the search feature here on the TMF is limited as you have discovered and I don’t think there’s any other way for certain searches.
