Silvertone reproducer retaining ring

The ring popped right out, but how do you screw it back in? There are no slots, holes or anything to assist in turning it. I did one years ago and had no problems.

Yep, it screws in. (Lay it flat on top and twist.) Sometimes the threads need to be cleaned in the body.

If the pot metal body has expanded too much, I have used a dremel tool with a slitting disc
to make a slice thru the retaining ring. Once it's cut, you can slightly expand the ring until it fits again.
With a little effort during reassembly you can get the area with the slit to line up with the needle bar,
making the cut almost invisible.
