I don't know who the collection belongs to because I cannot get to the head of the web site.

The 78s are mostly, if not all, of Japanese music, as opposed to Japanese/Western music. There is a link under each label to a digital rip of that side of the disk--these can be downloaded--Right Click, Save As .... Further down the page things are repeated but with commentary from and translation by "David Hopkins, an avid collector of vintage Japanese recordings."

This below is as far as I can climb up the URL. There is a password protected link at the top of the page referenced which provides access to the whole collection, and a username and password is provided, but these do not work.

Maybe the link below is a list of the entire collection. Anyway ... there is a LOT of other interesting ethnic stuff.

Yes! It's very interesting that they are mostly pre-war. If I'm being honest, the contents of pre-war records are BORING!

Once The Tokyo Boogie Woogie & Ginza Kankan Musume came out on 78 after the war, it modernized the music of Japan a lot. Eri & Yukimura's rock and roll 78's in the 1950's- Izumi Yukimura 78's are the best!!!

He seems to be a very interesting guy if the results obtained by putting his name into a search engine are anything to go by.

I know Cliff's site since late 1990s, always full of interesting and varied 78s that he shares with anyone interested. He must be a nice guy...
