October 2, 1908: Died: Will F. Denny, who distinguished himself in 1891 at the New England Phonograph Company as a performer of comic songs, followed by a successful career recording for Edison, Columbia and Victor while also appearing on the vaudeville stage.

Will Denny was lost way too soon in his career.. One of my favorite songs of his is “You’ll have to get off and walk”, where his unique vocal style showed a definite artistic flare for comedy with a strong Irish accent. He was truly a great performer.
