What is the number system for Diamond Discs with "Hot Jazz" music? Were they assigned their own number block or is it sporadic?

The Fox Trot recordings on Edison DD and Blue Amberol that were (and remain) jazz or hot selections were not in any number block. They were mixed in with other types of recordings.GroverOverton08 wrote: Mon Nov 10, 2025 10:32 am

There was no jazz category, hot or otherwise, in Edison records or any other label at the time - there were labels dedicated to the afro American market, but these were mixes of different types of music. The Edison recordings that are considered hot jazz in today's criteria are all in the 50 000 series. There are records by the Memphis Five, Georgia Melodians, Phil Napoleon, Louisiana Five, Earl Fuller Jazz Band and others, spread over the production. Some dance band fox trots have hot solos.GroverOverton08 wrote: Mon Nov 10, 2025 10:32 am What is the number system for Diamond Discs with "Hot Jazz" music?
