I'd recommend getting an inexpensive digital tachometer from Amazon (this one is $15 https://www.amazon.com/Tachometer-Non-C ... r=8-4&th=1). It will read RPM by bouncing a laser from a bit of the supplied reflective tape that you can either stick to part of the machine or to a junk, say moldy, cylinder to fit to the mandrel for a reading.
