Passing of Burdette Walters

I received word that Burdette Walters of Iowa passed away yesterday. An old school gentleman of the hobby.

Sad to hear. When I first started collecting I read the article about him in the Register.

Thank you for sharing, that is very Sad.

Burdette went by the handle, "Mr Opera." He loved them. He was one of the first collectors I met, helping me with an Amberola 30 I purchased when at College in Iowa.

He will be missed.

Sad news to hear and thanks for sharing.

Burdette was the one who taught me about the Opera balance spring and it's finction. He made me two of these when mine was broken.

There are so many great people in this hobby and it is also why it's so important for us to continue passing accumulated knowledge on to all collectors now and future to keep these great artifacts in working order.
