Just wanted to share with everyone the newest machine in my collection. Picked this up over the weekend at a local auction not far from my house. It's a 1923 Victor Victrola 111. The machine is remarkably well preserved and only has a few minor issues to attend to before it is fully operational once again. The gold plate is practically new, and only has once small spot where it has been rubbed off. It even came with the original Victor key, in gold. Being a Saint Louis native, I really enjoy that this is has been a Saint Louis machine, since it was new. Look at that dealer tag, “Stix, Baer & Fuller” The pictures were taken before I started working on it, so it's a little dusty still.

The original 1922 selling price of the VV-111 was $225.00
An estimated total of 22,738 spring-wound Victrola 111's were produced.

Congratulations! That's a good looking phonograph. How does it sound with the larger horn? I looked up Stix, Baer & Fuller on a newspaper archive website that I am a member of. There were several ads in newspapers ranging from about 1905 through the 60's. Nothing involving phonographs though.

Thanks for sharing and let us know what you think about the sound.

I'll let you know as soon as I get it back together, and get some more pictures. I didn't take any pictures under the hood since I have everything removed at the moment. I always make sure to degrease and rebuild the motor on any machine I get. This one was working, but had the standard "bump" on spring let down. The reproducer is also awaiting new gasket material and tone arm isolator.

So, Not the best looking pictures since they were taken with the camera on my phone, but wanted to share a couple more of the 111. The machine sounds great. the carvings on it make my 1920 XIV look plain in comparison and it towers over my 1916 XI.
