Here is an awesome item.

It is a complete set up to power an Edison Class M, or a Columbia Electric phonograph. This is much, much nicer, and more period looking than the battery eliminators or doorbell transformers that are found today being used on Class M and Columbia electric phonographs. With this set up, there's no extra cord, no plugging in!

Included is an original Edison battery jar, with original terminals. Inside, is a 4 volt sealed lead acid battery. These batteries are commercial, used in electric fences and fire alarm systems. They do not leak, ever, even when placed upside down. They don't require any maintenance, other than being charged.

Also included is the correct charger. This is not a charger for a lithium battery, it is specifically made for a sealed lead acid battery which has a different charging profile. These batteries will hold a charge for up to a year. It has 9 amp hours, providing ample charge. The 4 volts does not harm the original motor, and is actually appropriate as the motors usually need a little more juice to keep them going after over 100 years!

I have this same/ similar set up on my coin-operated battery powered phonographs. I play them often, and only need to charge the battery every 4 - 6 months or so.

That is very clever! I have made replica #6 dry cells for use on a telegraph display at the museum.
