Hi everyone! I'm new to phonographs, though my boyfriend who showed me this forum is an extensive collector of them. Is there a location/resource where I can read about atleast the related music? Preferably online, not print. Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum and the Hobby. Check out Stanton's Auction in Hastings Michigan. They have a three day phonograph auction coming up in April.

Welcome to the world of phonographs! May I suggest exploring "off brand" phonographs? I think you will find that they have a fascinating history and are, usually, a very affordable way to get into collecting! A keyword search of "off brand phonograph" in google or this [and other] online forums will get you started.
They usually have obscure/regional names that are not quite as famous as Victor, Edison, or Columbia, which can be found by looking under the lid if you stumble across one at a local antique shop. But, they are still "wind up" or "crank" style phonographs from the same time period..... They don't command the same "resale" or investment quality - but they're fun!
Happy Collecting and Researching......
