Unusual Edison Home model D

Hey guys, it’s been a while since I posted here, but I have ran across something recently that I’ve not found in all my years of collecting and unusual to me. It’s an Edison Home model D with single gold striping on the upper works. It is marked D in the lower field on the data plate by itself most model Ds that I have seen have had blue and gold striping. This machine is 2-4 minute, but the striping has thrown me off. Most have a serial number followed by the letter D Any help or information on this model would be greatly appreciated. Thanks regards Wes.

Wes,

The first of the Model D Homes and Standards retained the simple striping of the earlier models. It must have been a very short period because they don't pop up very often.

Thanks George. Having noted that this version is harder to find, are these valued somewhat higher than the type with the blue and gold striping?

I haven't seen enough of them for sale to offer an opinion on value, but from what little I've seen, not many collectors seem care much one way of the other. Personally, I like oddball variations like this, but others may prefer the admittedly prettier blue and gold striping.

James this one doesn’t miss yours by much. It precedes yours with a serial number of only 340445.
