This made me wonder: Did Lauder ever make any electrical recordings, or was he retired by then?

Google is (sometimes) our friend:

"Yes, Harry Lauder made numerous electrically-recorded records. Following the introduction of electrical recording in 1925, Lauder re-recorded much of his earlier repertoire for HMV, Zonophone, and Victor.

Here are key details regarding his electrical recordings:

Time Period: He recorded into the electrical era, with sessions spanning the 1920s and into the 1930s (e.g., sessions in 1932).

Labels: His electric recordings appeared on HMV (His Master's Voice) and as Red Seal records for Victor.

Re-recordings: In 1932, he recorded new versions of many of his classic hits at Abbey Road studios.
Specific Examples: Examples of his electrical recordings include "Rising Early in the Morning" (HMV D1622) and various 12-inch Victor records."

I've never seen a photo of Lauder looking so young.

As to the elctrical Victor record, I would have expected that Victor might have made some mention on the label, promoting the fact that it was electrically recorded. A missed marketing opportunity??
