Really everything is wrong with this. The description, the condition, and the price, even at $50. Where does the seller get the idea this is an HMV 101?
A great conversation piece, well maybe something like; “Is that trash waiting to go out with garbage?”

Dunno....
Il n'a peut-être pas tout à fait tort. C'est peut-être un produit français, et si c'est le cas, il doit donc, bien sûr, être de bonne qualité.
And how did he decide on the original $900 CDN price tag?
It is obviously not an HMV 101, but I wonder it actually is.

Steady on old bean, you are beginning to sound like steve ha ha
What is that thing on the turntable spindle I wonder ?
Is that a metal nail in the winder hole ?

The thing on the spindle at first sight seemed some part of the Ultona soundbox...
Tighter attention shows that it could be one of those back trumpets for a soundbox.
The nail seems to act as an improvised crank, yet it'll be hard to wind unless you use pliers to turn it.

Yes as you say it’s either something like the Ultona soundbox, a back trumpet for a soundbox like the Pixie Grippa or simply the mouthpiece of an old telephone.

Il existe des produits de bonne et de mauvaise qualité provenant de tous les pays. En outre, ce gramophone a l'air américain.
.
$900...Le prix est ridicule !
