Blue Amberol Listing

I have a copy of "Edison Blue Amberol" which is a listing of cylinders from the introduction of the Blue Amberols to the end. It starts with the catalog number and the corresponding page for the artist. It also has a section with titles that reference the artist and catalog number. My copy is marked up and I was hoping to find an unmarked copy to help me catalog my records. I believe this was put together back in the 1960's. Is it available anywhere or possibly on line?
Thanks, Jerry Blais

Jerry,

Is this the "Edison Blue Amberol" list that you're looking for?

MordEth posted a sortable excel version somewhere on this forum that is much more user friendly. Perhaps someone can point you to it?

Personally, I think the blue covered listing on ebay is a horrible reference. I find it's hard to use, hard to read & it is incomplete.
A much better & easier to use reference is compiled by W.S. & R.K. Wimmer. This 3 volume set has them listed by number, title & artist, and they list ALL blue amberol issues including the 9000, 10,000, 11,000, 22,000 & 23,000 British series.
My biggest disappointment with them all, is that no listing I've got or seen includes the recording/release dates.

There is another book, more difficult to find, titled "Blue Amberol Cylinders - A Catalouge compiled by Sydney H Carter, England.

Out-of-print, but it also lists all BA's including all foreign series.

What is also interesting about this book is that it lists the very last BA's that were prepared but never released, 5720 - 5732 and three others that were prepared but never issued serial numbers.

This one by Alan Sutton might be worth considering. It appears to have been expanded from his earlier 2005 book which I own. Has anyone seen it?

For anyone who knows the basics of excel it could be a great way to start a simple cataloging one's BAs. Just put an "x" in the column next to each record you have, then sort by that column, cut and paste into a separate tab... :D

Yes, I've got it in hardcover and it's really great. Not sure if it's available in soft or not.
