Brunswick Panatrpe Cortez, spring driven motor

My Brunswick Panatrope Cortez has an electric driven motor. I am just curious, how many springs does a spring driven motor have, and is it housed in two barrels? I know that the metal motor board of the electic and spring motors are the same. The cabinet even have a crank escutcheon at the side. It is nice to have one ready in case the electic motor cease up. :( I would appreciate the information.

The spring motor Cortez used a type B or C motor pictured below. Depending on your top motor plate you can probably judge which spring motor would fit it. My guess it's the type B, but I may be wrong! attachment=2]Brunswick Cortez Type C motor.jpg[/attachment]
Too bad you can't just order one from your local Brunswick dealer at 1927 prices!

Hello "Gramophone 78",

Thank you for responding.

My metal motor board or Brunswick Cortez top plate is B427. Your top plate is model C427. Do you think tou can mount the motor from C427 to B427? :?

Thank you Bob,

You are right, the motor seem to be Type B, This can be mounted in the top plate B427, which is my existing top plate, the electric motor is mounted. :)
