Hello, I am new to this forum and looking for some info. This piece was in my mother's garage when she moved into the house 45 years ago. When she decided to move and I cleaned it out and saw the name plate I figured I should check into it. I found info about the piece on victor-victrola.com. While the cabinet needs refinishing, it is basically structurally sound. So, my question is does the cabinet have any value or desirabilty even though the internal workings of the machine have been removed. Perhaps to some trying to restore this type of machine but their cabinet is missing parts. Thank you in advance for any info.

I don't specialize in the Orthophonic machines but it looks like a lovely cabinet. I would suggest listing it in our "Yankee Trader" section of the forum in "as found" condition. Maybe someone else can suggest a value. Also, I would suggest that you not do any restoration to the cabinet. I wish I could be of more help. Jerry Blais

For me its interesting to see close up photos of the cabinet - which was actually quite impressive. I've only ever see more distant photos or pictures (black and white) in catelogues, so thanks for posting these photos.
I agree with the others - leave the cabinet as is and advertise it. I recently bought a replacement cabinet for one of my machines as it was far better than the one I already had. So you may be lucky and find someone out there who is looking for replacements for missing or babdly damaged cabinet parts.
