I recently bought at auction some early literature with the name "Mutual Phonograph Company" ,it has a chicago address and advertises columbia machines, edison spring motor, edison machines, polyphone attachments and records. The records are advertised as being manufactured by them. I thought it unusual that both Edison and Columbia products were available from them. Just wondered if anyone knows anything about them. Thanks, Bob Smock

That first scan is great, Bob! The illustration shows an AS cabinet with the B mechanism just sitting in it - - backwards! No coin slot shown either. I've seen similar illustrations meant to depict the new BS, but not this particular one. The $20 price makes it clear that the new machine is a BS, so would date this flyer to around August 1898 or slightly later.

Thanks for posting - - I'm looking forward to seeing more! Great flyer - -
