G&T Style number 3 Circa 1905

Post by saxymojo »

Hi

I recently bought this on US ebay, the seller would not post international, so I booked a holiday and had it sent to my intended accommodation, the lengths I go to with collecting. Anyway we enjoyed our holiday and this came home with me in my hand luggage.

It runs well, sounds good, not much motor noise, all it needed was a clean. We got a few questions going through all the different customs xray centres, one custom agent recognised what it was, so he did a bag inspection, so he could check it out. I have the original horn elbow, but the stitching has perished and the leather is very old and fragile, so I made this one up so I could play the machine.

Regards Marcel

The original horn elbow is in front of the machine, it is in a very fragile condition and best not used.

How does the reproducer fit on the leather? Is it just a snug fit or is it connected in some way?

Very nice machine. The mfg label looks excellent!

Hi Steve

The elbow is a snug fit, there is also a clamp that holds it on tight, you can see it in the first photo with the wing nut, the transfer is quite good for it's age. How is collecting going for you? I haven't found much recently, this was a nice find. I think I got it for a good price due to the seller refusing to ship international.

Regards Marcel
