Need pot metal carriage suggestions - Please help!

Post by Jerry B. »

I'm working on a late Col AT and I have the typical pot metal carriage issues. I have it disassembled but can not get the lever ring off the tube. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, Jerry

Jerry,
In Eric Reiss's book, The Complete Talking Machine" discusses this very issue. Also, I believe Jean-Paul Agnard has reproduction carriages, and trunnions. for the late AT.
Good luck,

Thanks Harvey, I did read that section of the book and he suggests cutting the ring. I was hoping to avoid that if possible. Thanks, Jerry

Hi Jerry,
It's a lesser of two evils. I believe that Jean-Paul Agnard has a reproduction carriage sleeve in either Aluminum or brass. I's check with him. If he has that part, I'd save the ring and break the sleeve.
