If I hadn't gone in hock over the weekend buying phonographs, I'd have been sorely tempted to bid on this. I think it went quite reasonably!

I apologize for the link - - Even after all the direction given here, I was unable to upload the images. If some patient member would do so, I'd be grateful.

It is very cute though I think the tone arm is a replacement- the reproducer looks like the typical crapophone pattern. I wonder if the whole thing might be a modern creation from some Pakistani workshop with more inspiration than usual.

Interesting little machine. Never saw anything like it before. The reproducer may be new (?), but the case looks to have some age on it.

Re: A Beautiful Little Phonograph
Thanks for the photo, Penman.
I agree that the tone arm seems a bit incongruous, but knowing nothing about this machine, I thought it might be some European beastie from the late 20s/30s. Yet I admit the thought of a crapophone hadn't occurred to me. And there's the major problem with buying on ebay - - you can't examine the thing!
Have I been attracted to a crapophone? Oh, the shame...!

The tonearm appears to be from an HMV 88 or 97, and the brake, speed control, & crank all appear to be crapophone. I think it's a complete fake.

Re: A Beautiful Little Phonograph
I dunno, I actually think it looks nice. It could just as well be a crapophone as a small European toy/machine from the '20s. If it is a crapophone, I actually kinda like the direction this went. It appears to be rather well-made, which makes me iffy on whether it's really a Middle-Eastern repro, because I don't see any cheaply soldered bits.

I won't say Crapophone because it's very attractive, but it looks like a modern piece with vintage parts.

Looking at the sellers previous sales he was also mentioned on here with the Toy Hand cranked phonograph from a few months ago.

Sorry to bump, but I found this on the 'Tube a few days ago.

Yipes! The soundbox just falls right off at the end of the record
Sound quality isn't too great, but that may be worsened by the camera. What a shame, though. It actually looked pretty nice for a cheapie.
