I am restoring an Edison B-19. The machine is in dismal shape but I like bringing these discarded
machines back to life and rescuing them if you will.

I removed the top veneer and in the process of re-veneering it.

What I need is a decent grille and I'm set. Anyone? Thanks

Contact Shenandoah Restorations...they should have the grille.

Also, I have a B-19 and it has the maple wood, I worked on that thing for two months finally got the original about where it should be. It would be nice if you could take some pics and show us the results..I would like to see how well these machines could look restored. All in all, I like the B-19 it is easy to move.

Hi

This is my B19, the first machine I ever restored, I have since changed the grill cloth for a darker brown, they really are a nice machine. I believe they are made from Australian red gum grown in the USA.

Nice restoration! Did you have to restore the inside too?

This model was never made in mahogany or maple. The cabinets are made from Red Gum as Marcel mentioned above. They were however sold in 2 different coloured finishes, called rouge & naturel.
I assume naturel cabinets were finished using shellac with no stain to colour the timber.

*BTW: Awesome restoration you did there Marcel! It looks sensational.
