question about springsin motor

Thanks for the help with my first question. If I could ask another question Is there some way to relube or oil the spring motor without moving or talking apart the motor thanks

no, not really.

and you can just follow up in the same original thread you started.

and again, if you just take a few minutes and browse through this site - you can even use the search feature at the bottom of the pages - I think you'll find the answer to most if not all of your questions, and in great detail.

If it's just general lubrication of the gears, Victrola motors are fairly accessible.

You'll have to remove the crank and the turntable first, then unscrew two large screws on the motor board. You can then pivot the motor up for service.

If you have to regrease the mainsprings, though, that's a fairly strenuous job; many collectors prefer to have that done professionally. There are some good links on this site for that.

I'd definately recommend sending the motor out to have the springs cleaned & greased in this case.
Normally I'd encourage someone to have ago themselves, but the springs in this particular motor are some of the largest Victor used, and there's 4 of them, so unless you've had previous experience with smaller springs, attempting these for your first time could be prove dangerous.
