I fully agree with Sean. I've always liked those little 8 inchers.
Interestingly, Syd Roy was Harry Roy's brother and the second record was made by B.H., i.e. the British Homophone company. Crystalate (Eclipse), Homophone and British Vocalion (Broadcast) merged shortly after, with the new 9 inch Crown and 10 inch Rex (the King of records) as main labels. Crystalate in its turn was taken over by Decca, mainly because of its great studio facility. German Crystalate stayed independent however and kept issuing records on the Kristal(l) and Imperial labels until late in WW2.

I assume it's Syd himself, quite probably leading the 'studio' band (which had all kinds of top musicians, moonlighting for a little extra beer money). Eclipse used a bewildering number of pseudonyms for what was in essence Jay Wilbur.
The 8 inch Lewis's can quite well have been dubbed from a 10 inch Plaza. It has a very Durium Dance Bandy sound to it, so it might be Arthur Lally. Particularly the drummer sounds quite familiar.
