Edison Invents the Christmas Gift Certificate, 1908.

Every time I read this article in the Edison Phonograph Monthly it amuses me for the fact that that nothing is new under the sun. Actually, I think the gift certificate idea predates 1908, but this article nicely sums it up..complete with festive printed forms.
Imagine the " embarrassment of riches" available at your Edison dealer in 1908! Were I to get this certificate I'd go for the two minute Grand Opera cylinders. :) What would be on YOUR Xmas list?
