I am offering a very nice early VV-XIV. The very early Victrolas had styles unique to the particular model. Examples are the "spider leg" X, the "L" door XVI, and the probably the most uncommon of the three, the early XIV. The machine is 100% original and the mechanical parts include the VTLA/Vic VI motor, the Vic VI tone arm, the Vic VI bullet brake, and the Vic VI gold Exhibition reproducer. The value of the sum of the parts is more than my asking price of $600. I prefer not to sell it to someone that will sell the parts. Delivery is possible to Union or CAPS and I'm happy to answer any questions. Thanks, Jerry Blais - 541-990-0781 or

Beautiful machine! I am curious about something. Will the motorboard for a c.1917 VV-X fit into the opening for a c.1910 VV-XIV? I have a project VV-X with amputated legs & a functional motor, & may want to get a VV-XIV which is only the cabinet. I might be interested doing a little "cross mutation" if the VV-X motor will fit. Then there's the question of how long the winding key is for the VV-XIV & will the one for the VV-X will fit. Just hate to see a good cabinet go to waste, but on the other hand I don't have a pile of Victor parts stashed in the garage either:)

The motor boards of the two machines that you've mentioned differ considerably, and the positions of the crank holes of the two motors also differ. In addition, I believe that the late motor is deeper than the Victor style motor, and in the early VV- XIV. The clearance between the bottom of the motor and the horn is quite tight. The machine which you propose would be quite the kludge, I think.
