Slathered with high-gloss polyurethane and drilled for a new clock. Ugh.
TO MAKE THIS UNIQUE I PUT A NEW QUARTZ CLOCK MOVEMENT IT THE WOOD CASE WITH A BOLD GOLD FACE AND NUMBERS TO SHINE WITH THE REPRODUCTION DECALON THE FRONT OF THE CABINET.THE MACHINE SOUNDS AWESOME AND LOOKS AWESOME.THIS WOULD MAKE AN AWESOME GIFT ITEM FOR THE HOME OR THE OFFICE AND A REALLY AWESOME FOCAL POINT TO YOUR WONDERFULL HOME.FOR THE PURIST AND THE CONVENTIONAL.I WILL INCLUDE 6 CYLINDERS WITH YOUR NEW ADDITION.THIS IS ONE REALLY AWESOME LOOKING PIECE.
 Replace "..some" with "..ful" and it might sound more accurate.

I can't believe that someone would actually ruin an antique like this and then ask double the price of what It could have been worth!!!

I bought a machine from him earlier this year. it was mostly as described, although the description changed a few times. at first it was all original but checked over or something vague like that, with a couple of loose joints and a single screw added to secure one of them... then we spoke by phone and I was told it had been acquired through a fairly well known NJ dealer and the reproducer, but not the motor, had been rebuilt... then when I went to pick it up, none of the mechanics appeared to have had any work done but he was then telling me that both the motor and reproducer had been rebuilt, although I was at the time focusing more on the cabinet, the joints, which were looser than expected and now had two screws attempting to tighten them up, he apparently had forced another one into another one of the legs. after getting it home... eh, whatever, you get the point. I ended up just reselling it. he seemed like a nice enough person, but, you know, caveat emptor and all that.

I was thinking he could just connect the crank to a cheese grater and make it even more useful!
