Victor didn't use metal needle cup inserts for the new needles...the only cup was the waste cup with the lid.

My guess is someone popped a couple of cups from a Columbia into it (the Columbia's had drilled holes in the motor board, and put the cups into the holes). In all the Victor literature I've seen, I've never seen anything indicating they had additional cups. And considering they never put them into the high end models, why would they put them in a relatively inexpensive model? I'd be willing to bet they are not original to the machine.
