Remember about a year ago we were talking about Tinkerbell's Brunswick and I said that the pre-Ultona ads showed " Miss Brunswick" holding the second lateral cut reproducer in her clasped hands? Here's both versions. You can see in the first one how the hands have been retouched. They used this image of Miss Brunswick as a semi-trademark from the late teens to about 1922 or so.
I knew I had that ad and I finally found it. I think it's from early 1917, but now I have to find the Munsey's from which it came. I didn't remove it on purpose...it's the back page and it fell off.

The oracle that IS the voice of Brunswick...

Yeah, trying to angle the head to the same orientation as the original using an existing profile shot didn't quite work because too much of the original woman's head in the ad was showing. To resize and angle it to cover the advertisement's head meant having to make it so large it looked macrocephalic. Not a good look... so I changed the orientation slightly.

Very nice, I always liked Brunswick machines, and the records sound great too, one of the better sounding lateral discs.. I like the Panatrope machines too, the bass may not be like an Orthophonic, but the midrange, volume and highs certainly are very good indeed. I was at Evert Killion's house, many years ago listening to some excellent electrical recordings, and the hours went by!! Although I have never seen the Brunswick with the individual heads before.

I love this! Miss Brunswick returns to the fold!
