Whilst perusing the interweb for information about the portable Columbia 10A that’s in my grubby little hands (with shockingly little progress), I’ve come to the inevitable conclusion that I *may* have to actually buy some books.

But there’s a problem:
a.) I don’t like spending money,
b.) I don’t like buying books because it gives people the wrong impression that I know how to read.
I much prefer looking at all the *pweety pikturz*...

And so, in my wanderings across the ‘net, I’ve come across a Japanese firm by the name of Gakken: they make a variety of mini-replica kits of many a machine that’s out in the world today.
And several of those kits are gramophones!
And you can play and record disks with them ... Now that’s awesome!

They appear on eBay every so often, and are available elsewhere (for a better price ... sometimes)

And check out this video of another model:

I’m sure with the proper hints, this could end up as a “new toy” of some sorts in your birthday/Christmas stocking.

And another important concern I came across is the proper cleaning of records.
I’m sure we’ve all got an opinion or two on that matter, but this video is by far the most intelligent and thought provoking one that I’ve seen so far:

Cheers!
