Wasn't Peter Bacigalupi a big name in the phonograph business on the West coast? Note his name in the Zonophone ad.

Yes, he was. One of the pioneer businesses, in fact, in the phonograph industry.

What a great piece of paper! Where did you get it. Interesting that he does not even speak about titles, numbers. So much for inventory control I guess... :cow:

There seems to be a big following for Bacigalupi products, even if you don't live in CA. I thought it might be interesting to learn how rare Bacigalupi cylinders are, especially Concert recordings.

I have one regular 4" Bacigalupi cylinder that is announced Polyphone records and is from Sousa's Grand Concert Band. A friend of mine thought it was an uncataloged recording, but we can't remember the name of the recording. He doesn't live here so I can't ask him until he revisits.

I also have one Concert Cylinder mint in box with original lid (sans record slip) titled Coon Coon Coon, by Arthur Collins. Just curious who else might have anything.

I visited a San Francisco antique shop back in 1973. They had at least a hundred of the familiar 2M Edison Gold Molded cylinder cartons on a shelf. My excitement turned to disappointment as I found that most of the records were very moldy. Most of the cartons had a Bacigalupi sticker pasted on them. That name meant nothing special to me back then. I bought a few good records out of that lot and wonder what the cartons might be worth now?

All I've got is an original Bacigalupi receipt (and signature) from 1898:

I have several Bacigalupi items, all illustrated in my article which has a link posted earlier in this thread. Perhaps the most unusual is the oil bottle embossed with his name and pre-earthquake address. I've never heard of another turning up.

There are definitely some interesting items out there. Scott, your early Bacigalupi invoice is neat and Rene, your sealed oil bottle is a great artifact.

Some of the neatest Bacigalup items I have seen are these letters from the Kinetoscope era. See photos.
