How to remove elbow from tonearm?

Hi all,
I have a Columbia Grafonola type G-2. Can anyone tell me how to remove the elbow from the tonearm? The tonearm is damaged already, so it doesn't matter if it breaks as long as the elbow comes off intact.
Thanks very much,
Allison

Please someone? I'm at a standstill until I can get this done, and I'm so close!
Much appreciated,
Allison

Spray some penetrating oil around the flange where the reproducer inserts into the tone arm. Put it in the freezer overnight. In the morning, try removing it. If no luck, email me directly and I'll try to give additional assistance. Pot metal parts are an absolute bear sometimes.

One trick I was told was to heat the female end so that the pot metal expands and you should be able to remove the male end before it heats up and expands. Freezing first may help this process
Best of Luck
