My Kotton Kleanser is now the consistency, and color, of maple syrup. Can its till be used safely? It is pretty warm where I am... maybe thats it? Thanks!

I keep mine in the garage where it also gets pretty hot in the summer. I've noticed the same change in color, but have not noticed any negative impact on its performance.

It might be OK on pancakes, and it costs less than real maple syrup.

I had that problem, too. I believe it loses it's performance. I ended up throwing it out. I now use GOJO with better results.

For what it's worth, GoJo will turn into the same maple syrupy goo over time. Big Lots has 28 oz tubs of original flavor GoJo for $3.

I'm leaving my tub of GoJo in the house this time to see if it helps preserve it.

I think the white appearance of the new product is the result of its having been whipped during manufacture which infuses it with lots of litle air bubbles which makes it reflective like whipped egg whites. When sitting on the shelf for a long time, the bubbles dissipate and leave the un-aerated liquid. I've used the old stuff after it has turned to liquid and haven't noticed any decrease in performance.

The only decrease in performance, IMHO, is when it gets syrupy, you can't apply is as thickly on a vertical surface and have it stay in place. I would put some old paper under the machine to catch the run-off.
