I bougt a G&T New Style 3 Gramophone, like the Featured Gramophone#6:

I bought it for a restoration project, it is in a good shape, but needs lots of work.

It is original, would be hard to fake it, BUT the record spindle IS not threaded for a record hold down screw. I am not a phono expert, but I have been around antiques enough to spot a fake.
Your opinions.

It appears to be a threaded spindle in the pics.

I took another look at the motor. It looks exactly the same as all the other TM motors I have seen on available pictures. BUT no thread on the spindle!
The spindle looks like it was part of the motor not a later replacement part.

I am basing my observation on the rather poor pics that the seller posted in their ad. Unless you now have the motor in your hand???. If not, I would wait until you do.

Pappde, I have looked into some of my books that deal with G&T later TM's and I'm happy to say that appears this model did indeed come with a non-threaded spindle. Looks like all is well with your purchase. Congrats!!!
