I recently bought a Victrola VVX and the gear (supposed to be) attached to the threaded piece that the crank handle threads into was apart. I need advice on how to re-attach. Looks like it may take a pin?

You need a tapered steel pin to connect the two parts. Available at all major phonograph dealers for around $1.

You may also be able to find one at a clock repair shop if you have one locally. Do not be tempted to use a brass or mild steel one as these will snap dramatically.
